Weylandts Epping Distribution Centre

Having successfully completed Phase 1 in 2017, we were thrilled to have we won this tender in August 2021.

Site possession was taken end October 2021 with a completion date being end July 2022. The scope of works included the removal of the existing asbestos roof sheeting and demolition of the existing warehouse including all concrete floors and foundations before construction could commence.

The new building is a steel portal frame structure warehouse with eaves height of 8.5m with brick infill panels and vertical cladding above the brickwork and three levels of manufacturing area.

A new fire wall 5.6m high was constructed separating the new warehouse from existing. As part of the fire protection upgrade, Fire Protection Sprinklers and Water Storage Tanks and Pump System including in-rack sprinklers were installed.

To keep part of the “old” building, five of the existing steel saw-tooth trusses from the demolished warehouse were saved and re-purposed for the new canteen roof structure.
