Project Detail
We first engaged with Hi Calibre Engineering when we successfully built the Microchem Facility in Stikland in 2019.
Having established a good working relationship with the Hi Calibre personel, we were approached to build the new Freezer Farm and Offices for Biovac.
Prior to construction commencing, we demolished an existing heritage building, which occupied the site. Due to poor founding conditions, the site level was to excavated to reduce the depth by 1m.
Construction started mid November 2021 and practical completion achieved June 2022.
The building is a two storey building with ground floor housing the Freezer Farm comprising 156 No. Ultra Low (-70 deg C) Freezers and Dry Ice Packaging Area.
The upper level consists of management offices, open plan offices, boardroom, meeting rooms, canteen and plant room for the AHU for the lower-level temperature and humidity control as well as Compressed Air.
Other upgrades included a new guard house and receiving/dispatch area.
