OUR HISTORY & A New Era
Founded in January 1990 as Lovemore & Company and today trading as LVM and Co. (Pty) Ltd, we specialise in:

in the commercial and industrial building sectors in the Western Cape.
Stephen Pearce (NHD Build. Surv.) and Colin Drescher (NHD-Build. Surv.), two highly qualified professionals and industry veterans, have served as the Executive Leadership and shareholders of the company since 2008.
We recently changed our name to LVM & Co. (Pty) Ltd providing both, continuity of brand recognition and symbolising a new era of company ownership and values. We shall retain our original Lovemore & Co. CIPC company registration number of 1961/001754/07, ensuring a seamless transition for all our business partners.
We have grown from strength to strength and today, boast a team of over 40 employees who are long serving and highly experienced in both general contracting and turnkey developments. Our compliment of dedicated employees and strong balance sheet, enables us to leverage our resources including our extensive plant and equipment to manage several projects simultaneously.
We are committed to our clients and hold ourselves accountable to deliver on our promises. Our multi- disciplinary approach permits us when required, to be actively involved in all aspects of every project, while our speed and agility ensure the most cost-effective way to deliver the highest quality results exceeding our customers’ expectations.
In March 1993 we were enrolled as members of the Master Builders Association (MBA) in the category of General Contractor and were recently recognised by the association for 30 years of continuous membership.
Our administration, operations staff and plant yard are all located at our offices in M5 Business Park, Maitland, Cape Town.

HI Calibre Engineering (HCE), in conjunction with Lovemore and Company, collaborated on the construction of the combined production and office facility known as The Freezer Farm for our client Biovac in Pinelands, Cape Town, South Africa.
The fast-paced project included the requirement to demolish existing heritage-status buildings and construct alongside Prasa HT lines.
The two-level construction, with a total combined GLA of over 2,208 square meters, was completed in under 12 months, inclusive of demolition and final snagging.
This was only possible with the excellent focus and hard work brought to bear by the combination of the professional team and Lovemore. Lovemore was responsible for the construction of the structure, facade, and many of the internal elements, and they performed perfectly to deliver this beautiful building.
The end result will be around for many years for the enjoyment and benefit of our client. HCE will, without hesitation, recommend LVM and Company for any construction project.

We first worked with Lovemore & Co on a turn-key office development, Sandown Square in Sandown. Having designed the project and secured the approvals, mlh was appointed by the Client for the duration of the construction period to ensure the design ethos was carried through.
Working with the Lovemore team was easy, they have a ‘make-it-happen’ kind of attitude, are good communicators, and team players. Although not part of their team, we always felt included and were actively involved in project meetings and decision making. Furthermore, when challenges arose, they were and continue to be committed to resolving and rectifying any issues. We look forward to the opportunity of working with LVM & Co on future projects.

We have had the pleasure of working with the Directors of LVM on a number of projects for Weylandts.
Our relationship started with the Weylandts Distribution Centre in 2017. This was followed by further additions to the DC in 2022 together with office alterations to the Weylandts stores in Greenpoint and Durbanville.
All the Weylandts work required careful planning and programming to ensure that the existing facilities remained unhindered by the alterations and additions.
By being directly involved in all their projects, the LVM directors display a rare professional approach to the construction industry, allowing their clients to benefit from their high level of hands-on experience. We look forward to working with LVM again in the future.
